AMLoCor, ArcelorMittal’s new 'low corrosion' steel grade will undoubtedly revolutionize the design of port structures. One concern of designers and port authorities is the durability of marine structures like quay walls, breakwaters, jetties.
The main advantage of AMLoCor is a significant reduction of the corrosion rates in the 'Low water zone' and in the 'Permanent immersion zone', especially since in most cases the maximum bending moments, and consequently the steel stresses, are in the permanent immersion zone...
In order to present our reference projects in an orderly way, we created a new section on this website. You can find it in the banner menu under the link References...
Because of the development of the new sheet pile series AZ 13-700R and AZ 38-700N, the AZ 13 and AZ 39-700 series will be discontinued. These profiles can't be ordered anymore. They are removed from the table of AZ profiles.
The data of the discontinued sheet piles are still available on this website...
Since the introduction of the 700 mm wide AZ 38-700 in 2004 and the AZ 39-700 in 2008, the last chapter of this continuous enhancement will occur in 2011, introducing the AZ 38-700N.
A new calibration of the rolling process at the mill allows the manufacturing of this stiffer section, with much thicker ‘reinforced shoulders’, just like the AZ 48. The ultimate edition of this profile is the final stage of the development of this section and will undoubtedly denote a landmark for the future...

ArcelorMittal is continuously expanding its large offer of steel foundation products. The mill in Rodange, Luxembourg, started rolling successfully the new PU-R sheet pile sections beginning of 2008. Now that the industrial production of these U-sections has achieved its targeted production capacity, their next objective is a light Z-shape which will complement the AZ-700 range from the mill in Belval. This 700 mm wide sheet pile is available in rolled-up and rolled-down versions, from 8.5 mm up to 10.5 mm thickness...
